Clay modeling workshop and craft week at INSD Bhilai

INSD Bhilai invites one of experienced faculty Mr.dhananjay to conduct a workshop on the clay modeling for the interior designing students. A clay modeling is a form of sculpting. The clay is a flexible and long-lasting material which is used for building different decorative items. Different materials could be used for building modeling clay. The interior designer, technical designer, artists, anyone who likes the arts can make clay models.

Ceramic, oil, dough, paper, and polymers can all be used as a base for modeling clay. The most appropriate type of modeling clay to use can depend on the application. Broadly, they are divided into hardening and non-hardening clays. Non-hardening clays like those used in claymation remain flexible so they can be adjusted. Hardening clays are designed to firm up to make a permanent project

Mr.dhananjay and his colleagues came on the campus of INSD Bhilai for sharing their practical experience on clay modeling. At first day, Mr. Dhananjay and his colleges guided student to make some small ducks and Ganesh using clay. In another day of the workshop, they guided the students about the coloring of the sculptures using copper techniques. INSD Bhilai team thanked to everyone for their valuable time and guiding students.

Along with the workshop, Mrs. Sandeep Kaur also guided the interior students about the various molds and taught different techniques for using clay. They used clay for making photo frames, pots, and other decorative items. They also learned about the coloring of these items. After learning, the students themselves design all these things and colored it. Students put all these items across the building of the INSD Bhilai.

Students used the clay modeling in the garden development competition.
